Dudley Council are moving forwards with the project to refurbish Greenhill Alternative Learning Centre. The new facility will include three classrooms, a computer room, Art room, main hall, kitchen & entrance hall along with other ancillary facilities, office spaces and meeting rooms.
The approved planning application stated “The proposal would secure a small scale educational facility that would broaden the educational opportunities within the borough, meeting with the national and local policy guidelines which seeks to promote developments with a positive and collaborative approach to meeting educational requirements and to widen choice in education options.”
We were tasked by Linton DMC to provide a suitable specification for a building that will potentially receive more rigorous handling than a regular school project. The brief was for robust ironmongery that would stand up to the conditions and our T316 Grade 4 lever handles were the obvious choice, along with heavy duty lock cases to work with electric strikes. Concealed jamb mounted door closers were the best compromise for sites installation capabilities and removing the opportunity for tampering.
