Conran & Partners asked us to be involved in an exciting conversion of one of London’s many iconic buildings, this one being the brutalist design tower block know as Blake Tower.
The building was to be converted into luxury apartments, giving buyers the opportunity to acquire high end residence in the heart of London.
Working closely together with Conrans and Edgewater Contracts we successfully completed 72 apartments and 2 penthouses. The apartments were all furnished with our ‘D’ section flat levers along with bespoke letter plates, pocket door hardware, concealed overhead door closers & high security cylinders, all in our satin brass finish which was left unlacquered to age over time. The penthouses were adorned with the same furniture but with the end user picking their own ironmongery finish, which we matched for them.
On paper this was a straight-forward contract with most apartments having similar items but with the client having a strict colour pallet for the project our skill and experience was paramount in delivering a finished product that respected the clients vision. We were able to match the chosen satin brass finish across all items, many that were manufactured in different materials and substrates – not an easy task!
